Summary
THE AUTHORS HAVE STUDIED THE SUITABILITY OF < GENERAL LECLERC > PEARS TO REFRIGERATION AT 273 K (0 DEG C) AND TO CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE WITH 3% O2 AND 3-7% CO2. THEY CARRIED OUT THE EVALUATION, AT HARVEST AND DURING STORAGE, OF THE PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS, AND THE PARASITIC AND NON PARASITIC DISEASES OF FRUITS BEFORE AND AFTRREN. THE RESULTS SHOW A HIGHER SUSCEPTIBILITY OF FRUITS, DURING NORMAL REFRIGERATION, TO THE INFECTION OF MYCETES, PARTICULARLY PENICILLIUM EXPANSUM. THE FIRMNESS, QUALITY AND SOUNDNESS WERE BETTER IN THE CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE STORED FRUITS.
