Temperature conditions in refrigerated vehicles and containers. 1. Temperature ranges, air and cargo.

Author(s) : MEFFERT H. F. T.

Summary

If the heat transfer to the circulating air governs the process of extracting external and internal heat in a refrigerated space, a simple model can describe the ranges between air and cargo temperatures. The coefficients for external and internal heat load appear to depend on design and operational factors. They can be determined by calculation or by experiment. The temperature range between return and delivery air is used to evaluate transport and storage equipment. It permits better standardization than the K coefficient and cooling capacity.
