THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES A DEVICE WHICH IS LIGHT, BATTERY OPERATED , ROBUST AND COMPACT, FORGE-PROOF, EASILY OPERATED AND CAPABLE OF PRODUCING THE TIME-TEMPERATURE HISTORY OF A PRODUCT AT ALL THE STAGES OF ITS LIFE. IT CANSTORE MORE THAN 5,000 MEMORY LOCATIONS FROM FOUR INPUT CHANNELS AT A PRESETITA. THERMISTORS ARE USED AS SENSORS MOUNTED IN A STAINLESS STEEL TUBE. COMPLETE MICROCOMPUTER SOFTWARE IS AVAILABLE FOR THE ANALYSIS AND PRINTING OUT OF RESULTS. THIS DEVICE IS NOW APPROVED BY USDA FOR FRUIT IN MECHANICALLY REFRIGERATED CONTAINERS.
