US frozen food volume up 2.7%, or maybe more or maybe less.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Prepared foods are the brightest spot, at least on the retail market. Vegetables gain in volume and exports. Domestic poultry volume up, although exports falter. Frozen food volume in the United States reached 37,470 billion pounds (16,901 million tons) last year, up 2.7% from 1993. Value of the frozen food market rose 3.9% to USD 67.550 million, mainly because of higher prices for prepared foods but the volume for the international market could well be understated, and fish and seafood volume overstated.
