Use of refrigerant mixtures as replacements for R12 with particular reference to ISCEON 49.
Author(s) : SLINN D.
Summary
The paper discusses the relevance and usefulness of mixtures to the present situation and specifically addresses R12 replacement with the ISCEON 49 blend. This refrigerant is unique in combining a zero ozone-depletion potential and compatibility with all types of refrigeration oils. Experience has shown engineering changes to be unnecessary and that both the efficiency and capacity of the product are equivalent to R12. Many conversions from R12 to ISCEON 49 have now been done, and a few examples are described.
