THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES A SMALL COMPACT UNIT WHICH PRODUCES COLD FOR AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEMS OF VEHICLES (OR OTHER APPLICATIONS). THIS UNIT INCLUDES A HIGH-SPEED (SPEED NOT SPECIFIED) TWO-WHEEL CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR, AN AIR-CONDENSER WITH A CONTINUOUSLY CONTROLLED FAN, AND AN AIR-COOLER EVAPORATOR WITH A CONTINUOUSLY CONTROLLED FAN. THE EXPANSION VALVE IS ELECTRONIC, WITH A PERFECTLY MODULATING FLWRE THIS UNIT WAS TESTED WITH R12, R134A, R113 AND WITH 2 MIXTURES STUDIED SPECIALLY FOR IT (COMPOSITION NOT GIVEN). THE RESULTS ARE PROVIDED IN TABLES ; EACH COMPONEN SDI NEA THE SYSTEM IS ORIGINAL IN THAT A CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR IS USED, SO THAT FLUIDS AT REDUCED PRESSURES CAN BE USED, WITH RELATIVELY HIGH SWEPT VOLUMES.
