Summary

CHARTS FOR THE FREEZING RATE, POWER REQUIREMENT AND SPECIFIC ENERGY AS A FUNCTION OF THE FLUIDIZED BED THICKNESS ARE PRESENTED FOR GREEN PEAS, CHERRIES, STRAWBERRIES AND APRICOTS. THE FREEZING RATE AND THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION FOR THE PROCESSES UTILIZING A FLUIDIZED BED ARE 7 TO 28% AND 20 TO 30%, RESPECTIVELY, HIGHER THAN IN A FIXED BED. FOR SMALL PARTICULATES THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION INDICES ARE APPROXIMATELY EQUAL FOR BOTH TYPES OF PROCESS.
