CHILLING INJURY IS OBSERVED IN VEGETABLES SUCH AS CUCUMBERS, MELONS, WATERMELONS, EGGPLANTS, PEPPERS AND TOMATOES AT TEMPERATURES BELOW 280 K (7 DEG C). HENCE, TEMPERATURES HIGHER THAN 280 K ARE RECOMMENDED FOR THOSE VEGETABLES.
