These proceedings in the "Panel proceedings series" contain 13 papers of the final research co-ordination meeting of the co-ordinated research programme on irradiation in combination with other processes for improving food quality organized by the Joint FAO-IAEA Division of nuclear techniques in food and agriculture, held in Pretoria, South Africa, February 27-March 3, 1995.
