Summary
Biref description of two types of cryogenic equipment for surface hardening of products for quick freezing. The first system is a moving belt, made from polyester, drenched with nitrogen which ensures surface hardening of the underside of the product. A liquid nitrogen pump recycles the excess which is sprayed over the top of the product. The second system is used before or after a mechanical freezer which handles small sized products. A stainless vibrating conveyor moves the product, liquid nitrogen flows in a thin layer in the bottom and the excess is recycled by the same pneumatic pump. J.R.
