Summary

ABOUT 70 SAMPLES OF RAW MILK (TWO MIXED MILKINGS) COOLED TO 4-5 DEG C WERE TAKEN ON 33 FARMS WHERE FIVE DIFFERENT CLEANING PROCEDURES FOR MILKING MACHINES WERE USED. THE BACTERIOLOGICAL TESTS CARRIED OUT PRIOR TO AND AFTER FOUR DAY STORAGE AT THE SAME TEMPERATURES COULD NOT ESTABLISH A CLEAR RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE MICROORGANISM CONTENT OF SAMPLES AND CLEANING PROCEDURES. A CHANGE IN THE NATURE OF THE PSYCHROTROPHIC FLORA OF SAMPLES AFTER STORAGE WAS SHOWN, WITH PSEUDOMONAS FLUORESCENS AS THE PREDOMINATING SPECIES. G.G.
