Summary
A food-irradiation plant being constructed in Sioux City, Iowa, will be able to pasteurize up to 400 million lb of ground beef per year, as well as chicken, fish, processed foods, and packaged meats. The plant, being built by Titan Corp., headquartered in San Diego, Calif., will use electron-beam (E-beam) irradiation rather than gamma irradiation.
