Summary

Defrosting products by the food processing industry is becoming a common part of the production process. Manufacturers aim to convert the thawing operation, consisting of electrical heating elements and a few fans, to a more efficient process. The process can be optimized by modifying the ventilation system, installing an intelligent control system or enabling individual settings for every duty cycle, including cooling and freezing of fresh products. Furthermore, energy consumption is reduced by reusing reject heat from the condenser. This allows higher process rates, reduces costs substantially and improves product quality.
