Type of article: Article
Summary
AFTER A BRIEF REVIEW OF THE ITALIAN VARIETIES OF FRUIT INVOLVED IN CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE STORAGE, SPECIFIC EQUIPMENT IS SHOWN AND DESCRIBED IN RELATION TO THE APPLIED ULTRA-LOW OXYGEN (ULO) AND LOW ETHYLENE CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE TECHNIQUES AND FOR HIGH CO2 TREATMENTS. SPECIFIC RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE CHARACTERISTICS OF ULO, CONTROLLEDATMOSPHERE ROOMS AND REFRIGERATION EQUIPMENT ARE ALSO DESCRIBED. APPLICATION OF COLLATERAL TECHNOLOGIES SUCH AS ETHYLENE SCRUBBERS BY MEANS OF CHEMICAL ADSORBERS AND CATALYTIC CONVERTERS ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
