THE AUTHOR REVIEWS THE TEMPERATURE REQUIREMENTS FOR MEAT, DAIRY PRODUCTS, FRUITS AND VEGETABLES AND GIVES EXAMPLES FOR CHILLED AND FROZEN MEAT, MILK, BUTTER AND EGGS. A TEMPERATURE TABLE IS GIVEN FOR TROPICAL FRUITS, AND PLANT DISEASES TOGETHER WITH THEIR TREATMENT ARE ALSO TABULATED. VEGETABLES ARE SAID TO SPOIL AT 273 K (0 DEG C) ALTHOUGH POSTHARVEST DIPS HAVE PROVED EFFECTIVE AS HAS CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE. RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR IMPROVING STORAGE OF ROOT CROPS IS ALSO DISCUSSED.
