Summary
The paper describes the history of the frozen-food industry from 1920 until today. Several events have increased growth of the market: the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo; the establishment of the Frozen Fish Association as well as the Japan Frozen Food Association in 1964 and 1969 respectively. Today, per capita consumption is 17.35 kg.
