Summary
The paper gives a short resume of the history and current position concerning CFCs in refrigeration. The USA and European approaches to phaseout are compared especially from the point of view of regulations, imports and acceptance of leakage losses. The problems are discussed and suggestions put forward to minimize leakage, reduce system charges and to take the total global warming factors into account. D.W.H.
