Summary
The purpose of this paper was to compare the practical energy efficiency of traditional direct expansion R-404A systems with carbon dioxide systems in cascade with R-404A. The comparison extends also into the capital investment costs of both systems to evaluate the overall viability of CO2 systems in a commercial environment.
