Refrigeration and air conditioning systems working with natural fluids.

Author(s) : KRUSE H.

Summary

Various refrigeration technologies in household and commercial refrigeration, as well as air conditioning, heat pumps, and transport refrigeration are discussed in the paper. Hydrocarbons as refrigerants have made a breakthrough in household refrigeration in Germany. For larger systems in commercial refrigeration ammonia is favoured as the working fluid. Carbon dioxide could be used in the future as the heat pump fluid. Transport refrigeration and air-conditioning systems are also under consideration for the application of natural fluids.
