Summary
The basic properties of substitutes for R22 which do not destroy the ozone layer and that can operate with traditional lubricants are presented in this article. These substitutes are blends of HFC refrigerants and hydrocarbons designated RS-44 and RS-45. The advantages of application of these refrigerants in comparison with HFC refrigerants (e.g. R407C) which required operating with polyester oils are discussed in the article.
