The success of hydrocarbons in domestic refrigeration: energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
Author(s) : DOEHLINGER M.
Summary
After a quick presentation on CFCs and environment, the author reviews the various usual fluids and compares them with propane and isobutane. The thermodynamic performances of these new fluids are evoked, along with their flammability and toxicity. Usage examples are given, particularly in the manufacturing of household refrigerators, in Germany.
