Type of article: Article

Summary

Faced with the phasing-out of R11 for cleaning refrigeration circuits, it appears that R134a, in the liquid phase under pressure, can solve the problem of cleaning these circuits before their commissioning or after breakdowns. The paper indicates the benefits of using this refrigerant, the method to use and the procedures to follow. The different steps in the operation are presented in detail with the aid of two diagrams. Aspects concerning safety are also treated thoroughly: ventilation, protection of the staff, fire hazards, toxicity, non-reutilization of the fluid used for the cleaning. Y.G.
