Actia, a French association with as mission the coordination of food-industry technology, co-ordinates 45 research centres employing 1000 researchers, engineers and technicians, and serves the food industry in its daily activities. Achievements over 10 years of R&D involve almost 100 projects in the following fields: analysis, packaging, the environment, formulation, microbiology (freezing-induced bacterial stress), nutrition, processing, quality, safety, sensorial quality.
