1,500 BACTERIA STRAINS WERE ISOLATED FROM THE SKIN AND VISCERA OF FRESH SARDINES AND AFTER STORAGE IN ICE (4 AND 8 DAYS). PSEUDOMONAS, NEISSERIA, FLAVOBACTERIUM/CYTOPHAGA, ENTEROBACTERIACEAE, MICROCOCCEAE AND CORYNEFORM BACTERIA ARE THE FLORA OF FRESH FISH. DURING STORAGE, PSEUDOMONADS GROW AND ARE PREDOMINATING.
