Summary
Investigations were performed with an electrically heated tube in which cryogenic CO2 and nitrogen were circulating. The cryogens were tested not only at a gaseous state, but also at gas-snow (CO2) and gas-liquid state (nitrogen). The highest heat fluxes amounted to about 50 kilowatts/m2. The highest heat transfer coefficients of about 4 kilowatts/m2.K were measured with boiling nitrogen.
