IIR document

Dutch Code of practice concerning temperature control in the frozen food distribution chain.

Summary

With the European Union and national legislation on frozen food distribution and hygienic practice (HACCP) and with quality control in mind, the various partners in the chain have aimed to compile a "Code of practice" for the distribution of frozen food products. It appeared from the procedures applied by companies in the transfer of food products from one link in the chain to another that there was a lack of clarity with regard to responsabilities and the control of physical conditions of storage. Conciousness about the collective responsibility in the refrigerated chain has been raised.
