Summary
This issue of "L'Officiel des Transporteurs Magazine" is entirely dedicated to the cold chain. As from January 1, 2005, European regulations make traceability a legal requirement and the food chain operators (foodstuffs, animal feed, foodstuffs of animal origin) must learn how to go from "intra-business" traceability to "inter-business" traceability. Extract from the table of contents: costs have increased by 4 to 5%; table of the maximum weight and sizes in Europe; testimonies from transporters; a day with a flower transporter; file on controlled-temperature: the cold chain in the food industry; from "intra-business" to "inter-business"; traceability, the new deal; a yoghurt's ideal life; the birth of a refrigerated van; vans and compartments: the ozone layer versus greenhouse gases; technical controls: journey to the end of the "cold tunnel"; management: indicators (economic references, materials, fuel, tolls, costs); controlled-temperature indicators (activity indicators: number of registrations in 2003, 2004 and over the past 10 years); refrigerated transport, changes in the 1970s.
