FREEZE-DRYING OF PULPED LIQUID AND PASTY PRODUCTS, WITH CONTINUOUS REMOVAL OF DRIED LAYERS OF GRANULES, IS DISCUSSED. THE DRIED GRANULES ARE LOOSENED IN A VIBRATING BED. THE EXPERIMENTAL UNIT IS DESCRIBED ; DATA OBTAINED FROM DRYING CONCENTRATED CULTURED MILK ARE PROMISING. THE WITHDRAWAL OF GRANULES HELPS TO KEEP THE ENERGY INPUT CONSTANT, WHICH MAKES THE PROCESS SIMPLE AND MORE INTENSIVE.
