Potent greenhouse gases: ways of reducing consumption and emission of HFCs, PFCs and SF6.
Type of monograph: Report
Summary
The potent greenhouse gases (also called the "F-gases"), are on the list of greenhouse gases, covered by the Kyoto Protocol. This report is an update of the 2001 report, to strengthen the Nordic co-operation and to describe the possibilities of using alternative technology objectively. It also describes the national initiatives taking place in the 5 Nordic countries to reduce the emission of potent greenhouse gases as well as how new refrigeration systems with natural refrigerants such as ammonia, hydrocarbons and CO2 are installed in these countries and how HFC is phased out in much of the plastic foam production. Extract from the table of contents: consumption and emission of HFCs, PFCs and SF6 in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden; use of HFCs, substitutes and other ways of reducing emissions (domestic and commercial refrigerators and freezers; commercial refrigeration systems; air conditioning; mobile refrigeration systems; heat pumps; cryogenic systems; polyurethane insulating foam); PFCs in refrigerant mixtures; use of SF6. In the appendixes: refrigerants and refrigerant mixtures; commercial refrigeration systems. This report can be downloaded from the Web site: www.norden.org/pub/miljo/miljo/uk/TN2007556.pdf.
