Summary

First volume of a series that seeks to describe the agro-food and biological applications of refrigeration. It details refrigeration production and the modes of preparation, storage, transport and distribution of foodstuffs. Attention is given to fixed installations, temperature maintenance, and improved refrigeration distribution in cold rooms, refrigerating complexes, commercial equipment and freezing units. The production, regulation and distribution of refrigeration in moving vehicles is detailed. Technologies for automizing and lengthening the service life of equipment and for saving energy are presented, along with temperature and humidity measurement and equipment used by refrigerating and thermal engineers. Also described are the aspects connected with public authorities, such as the legal ramifications of incidents in the cold chain, and research being done on substances subjected to refrigeration, on refrigeration production and on some possible future applications. The book is available from the IIR.
