Summary
This brochure has been prepared to raise public awareness regarding ozone protection and the recovery of refrigerants. Chapters are on the following: from protecting the ozone layer to preventing global warming; what is ozone depletion?; kinds of ODS and outline of the ODS phase-out schedule; international cooperation for ozone layer protection; what is global warming?; outline of greenhouse gases and regulations; utilizing the Kyoto mechanism; promote recovery and destruction of fluorinated carbon used as refrigerants; support measures regarding the introduction and commercialization of emission control equipment for the three CFC substitutes; ODS, CFC alternatives, etc. regulations; history of recovery and destruction of CFCs; history of ozone layer protection and global warming mitigation measures (global and Japanese).
