THE AUTHORS SURVEY THE RESULTS OF TESTS ON LONG DISTANCE TRANSPORT AND DISTRIBUTION OF CONTAINERIZED FRUIT AND VEGETABLES. 16 ACTUAL TRANSPORT RUNS WERE SUCCESSFUL, FROM THE TEST RESULTS, IN THE FOLLOWING DOMAINS: CONTROL OF PENICILLIUM IN CITRUS, OF BOTRYTIS IN GRAPES, TREATMENTS WITH HIGH CO2 LEVELS AND HYDROCOOLING.
